Welcome to the Hudson Community Fire Protection District website!

The Hudson Community Fire Protection District shall be made up of three (3) trustees:

President
Secretary
Treasurer

And shall have up to:
1   - Fire Chief
2   - Assistant Fire Chiefs
3   - Captains
4   - Lieutenants
25 - Firefighters

All firefighters are considered "professional".

They are divided between "volunteer" or "career" categories. Both are required to be trained and have the same legal responsibilities and follow the standards related to equipment and training requirements.

5/12/2009 - Hudson Fire responds for mutual-aid in Kappa

Hudson Fire was called for mutual-aid in Kappa late Tuesday night.  A two story home caught fire after a tree was stuck by lighting and disrupted a power line leading to the home during a thunderstorm around 11:30pm.  El Paso responded to the scene first and requested backup from Hudson, Lexington, and Gridley.

8 Year Old Shayla Canter, recovers from major accident on I-39.

Shayla was one of the many injured in a major accident on Interstate 39 on October 31st, 2008. Shayla suffered from a traumatic head injury and was air lifted to the Children’s Hospital of Illinois.

3/24/09 - HFD Dive Team Called for Car in Lake Evergreen

Just before 9am this morning, Hudson Fire Dive Team was paged for a car in Lake Evergreen.

3/14 & 3/15 - HFD Underwater Recovery Team Trains with the IL Search and Rescue Dogs!

 

 

Members of the Hudson Fire Department Dive Team trained with the Illinois Search and Rescue Dogs this month.  They will be training with these dogs monthly to get them certified for search and rescue missions. 

Approximatly 6 dogs were trained to lead a boat to a drowning victim by scent and visual at Evergreen Lake.

Warmer Weather Burning Tips!

 With winter weather now coming to an end and warmer weather in the area, more and more people    are starting to open burn, but, did you know that warmer weather leads to dry vegetation that can result in brush fires that burn and spread rapidly. Here are a few tips to think about to help prevent a fire spreading to your home.

1st Hudson Fire Valentine's Day Party was a success!

Our first Valentine's Day party was a big success.  Many people from the community spent the afternoon at the fire department for lunch, dancing, games, face painting, and a tour of the station.  We have posted 100+ photos of the event on our photo & video section.  Check it out! 

A big thanks to everyone who was involved in organizing this event and thanks to all who attended.

Hudson Fire Department called to assist Towanda Fire after accident 2/9.

TOWANDA -- A county highway worker fled a fiery blaze Monday after his truck was hit from behind and caught fire shortly after 2 p.m. Monday on the overpass that connects to the Towanda exit on Interstate 55.

The crash temporarily blocked both southbound lanes of the county road leading into Towanda Monday afternoon while one lane was open northbound. Interstate traffic below the overpass was not affected.

A southbound sport utility vehicle rear-ended a McLean County Highway Department truck towing a street sweeper, authorities at the scene said.
